- Pre-golfing is allowed, anytime prior to the scheduled date up to the actual scheduled date @ 4:45pm. Pre-golfing still has to be done with another league member.
- New players should have 2 practice rounds (9 holes) in to establish average, prior to the league starting. Players from last year will use last year finishing average as the starting average for this year.
- For players with an average over 60, 60 will be used for calculating handicap.
- Winter rules apply for bad lies. Exception: Balls in the sand trap must be played from the existing lie, except if it’s in a water puddle – in this situation it can be moved from the puddle to a location in the sand trap, but not closer to the hole.
- For head-to-head (match) play, maximum number of strokes given to a player will be 10.
- Week #5, 10, and 15 will be considered position rounds, and match play scoring will be used. You must win a majority of the holes to win the 2 points.
- Average determined based on 5 of the last 7 league rounds played – throwing out the best and worst round. Existing league members must use previous season’s calculated average (best 5 out of 7). New members will use all of their practice round scores.
- Handicap will be determined based on players average less par, multiplied by 80% (see new player exception below)
- If a new player is unable to establish an average, handicap will be the following: week 1 – 70%, week 2 – 75% week 3 – 80%
- Unplayable lies: For natural barriers (e.g. tree), players get no relief. Player can elect to take relief on an unplayable lie only, with a one stroke penalty. Relief will be an arm-length drop from the spot of the lie.
- Rules committee shall be comprised of 3 members, elected by the group at the pre-season meeting:
- Andy
- John
- Joe
- Andy Landry will serve as Secretary/Treasurer again, with John Rux serving as back up.
- Season will start on May 2nd and commence on August 22nd (assuming no rainouts). No golf is scheduled for Memorial Day or July 4th.
- Completion of 5 holes by the last group will constitute a round of play, in the event of inclement weather or darkness. In this situation, scores will only count for the holes completed by the last group.
- There should be no more than 4 players teeing off at the same time.
- Foursomes should try and tee off between 4:45 and 5:15. If last player is not ready to tee off by 5:15, the other players should tee off anyway
- Head-to-head play – Total score less stroke differential will be used. The player with the higher handicap will be given the stroke differential.
- The player that wins the match will receive 2 points. In the event of a tie, each player will receive one point
- A bonus point will be awarded each week to the player that has the best overall net score for the week. In the event of a tie for the best score, no bonus point will be awarded
- If you are absent, your score will be your average + 2 strokes
- If both players are absent, neither player gets a point
- No mulligans are allowed during league play
- If a player is golfing the blind position, they must shoot their average + 2 for a tie, or their average + 1 (or better) for the win.
